Well done to the Junior Cup team who had a hard fought victory over Athenry last weekend. At one point, Danny McGrath’s side looked to be in serious trouble but they dug deep in the latter stages to carve out a well-deserved win.
The winning side, that will now go through to the next round, was John Bodkin, Dave Burke, Sean Byrnes, Damien Coyne and Jason Cullen.
The Jack O’Sullivan team lost 3-2 to Athlone with the side losing all three matches away.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The President’s Prize this year will be held on Saturday/Sunday 29/30th August and will now be a Club Presidents prize with all prizes sponsored by Tuam Golf Club. This will be an 18 hole stableford Competition with a qualifying final 9 holes played on Sunday. Entry fee 10 euro. Don’t forget to put name on BRS.
The Vice Presidents prize to the ladies will also now be a club Vice Presidents Prize played on the same weekend (29/30th August). Entry 10 euro and enter on BRS.
On the weekend of September 19/20th we intend to run a Club Captains prize. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
A back nine of 25 points helped Francis Canavan (21) to pip Peter Ryan (4) on a b/d, both players coming in with 41 points. Gross went to Tuam man Darren Leufer (+1) who went round in two under par gross!!! Brilliant golf by all three players. CSS was 35 pts.
Our 3-ball am-am competition returns this monday with a champagne scramble with two scores to count and you can use the best drive, place, and play your own ball from there. However you MUST use three drives from each player AND you MUST play your own ball at the par threes. £5 entry as usual and visitors welcome.

6 teams took part in the Junior golf last Tuesday 11th in what turned out to perfect golfing weather. 20 players took to the fairways including 2 newcomers who were warmly welcomed.
1st prize was won by team 6. With 27 points. Tom Henry, Orry Higgins, Darragh Mc.Namara and David Burke.
2nd prize with 27 points went to team 1.Dylan Broderick, Katie de Paor and John Burke.
Players and Volunteers were thanked for their continued help each week and Golf parent Cathy Burke makes everything run smoothly with her technology skills.
