16 years ago this month T G. C. celebrated the centenary of its foundation and at that time Tom Maher initiated the Mass for all deceased members of the Club. This Mass has been offered every year since and has brought together a full club house of members with their families and it became an annual social event. Tom Maher has to be congratulated on this initiative and it was so appropriate that he was the reader at this mornings Mass (5th Nov.) Because of Covid only Tom and Fr. Pat were present. Thanks to Fr. Pat too and the many priests who obliged us over the 16 years inclusive of our golfing Bishop, Fintan who played in an all Ireland Pierce Purcell team. The book containing all the names of the deceased members (written in by you) over the 16 years, was placed on the altar and will remain there until the novena for the deceased ends on the 10th.To one and all a word of thanks, organisers, Mary Burns, bar staff who provided the refreshments and to our P.R.O. Ann Treacy who keeps us all socially connected during this Pandemic. She always comes up TRUMPS,!!!!
