Lady Captain 2012 - Ms Siobhan Joyce

It is an honour for me to follow a long line of very influential Lady Captains of Tuam Golf Club and I hope that I can emulate what they have achieved over the years.

While we have a very active and competitive ladies section in the club, it is my intention to try and promote ladies golf in Tuam and hopefully attract more members, not just this year but in years to come.

We have a wonderful facility in Tuam and one that I am extremely proud of. And while the competitive element is very important in a golf club, so too is the social interaction between all of the members and that is something that we should make a priority for the years ahead.

Tuam Golf Club is a very challenging test and one that visitors will really appreciate. We are a very welcoming club and this is in evidence when we host visiting teams or golfers who come to play in our open competitions.
I wish all the members and our many visitors a wonderful golfing year and thank the ladies committee for the support they have given me and the only thing that we can hope for now is that the weather stays fine for us.

Favorite aspect of the club: The way visitors are made feel welcome.
Favorite hole: The 5th because that it where I had my first ever birdie playing golf.
