To be chosen as Captain of Tuam Golf Club is both an honour and a
challenge as golf clubs throughout the country face a very difficult time.
The developments carried out over the past couple of years have improved
the course immeasurably and this is the bedrock on which we base the
future.
We have entered an environment in which we have to provide our members
with a quality product at an affordable price and I think that Tuam Golf
Club has achieved this ambition.
The club is proud of the fact that it is one of the most challenging
parkland courses in the country and one that visitors to our course will
be impressed.
It goes without saying that our first obligation is to our members who are
the lifeblood of the club but we are also appreciative of the many
visitors who regularly sample the demands of our course.
In these difficult times, it is important to provide the best possible
facility both to members and visitors and I firmly believe that we have
achieved this in Tuam Golf Club.
I hope that during my year as Captain that I will be accessible to all
members and I will endeavour to welcome visitors to our club as often as
possible.
I am very appreciative of the support that I have received from the
members of the club and from my committee and I wish everyone who plays
golf in Tuam during 2010 a very rewarding experience.
