I am delighted to serve as Captain of Tuam
Golf Club for 2008 and I hope that everyone, members and visitors, who
play the course will during the year enjoy the facilities that we have.
Like many other courses around the county, Tuam is anxious to progress and
improve at every given opportunity. That is why we are currently
undertaking major improvements to the course.
During the latter months of 2007 the first phase of the course development
was carried out and the results of this will be experienced by everyone
during 2008 — the changes are both challenging and refreshing.
Tuam Golf Club has always strived to be one of the best inland courses in
the country and as the subsequent phases of the development take place,
there is no doubt that we can achieve this. I can guarantee that it will
be worthwhile in the end and it is important that there is patience,
tolerance and understanding while the working are going on.
I would like to compliment the development committee on their tremendous
efforts to date and assure them of our total support into the future.
Finally, I would like to thank the management committee, the sub
committees and the members in general for their gracious support and wish
everyone an enjoyable year’s golf.
