Scoring was hot this weekend in the PJ Melia Memorial Cup, (kindly sponsored by the O Malley Family) with Noeleen Walshe having a phenomenal 59 nett. Noeleen has only been playing golf for the past 3 or 4 years and this weekend saw a massive reduction in her handicap.Congratulations to her. There were three fine 67s but they faded into the background!!

There was a very successful AM AM held in the club at the weekend with over 300 golfers playing in the Tuam Stadium fundraiser. We hope the visitors enjoyed themselves and found the course in good condition.

Next weekend will be sponsored by Connolly Motors, Galway It is an open 18 hole singles competition and the following week will be open with a mixture of competition types.

Members are urged to use the BRS time sheet for the Wednesday open. We are aware that visitors are not travelling for our open day as when they look at the time sheet it is often blank. The BRS timesheet if used properly is a great way for those without regular partners to play and meet new golfers so please ..use it.

Summer scotch foursomes matchplay… a sheet for names is in the locker room. There will be a draw for partners (high/low). This has proved to be very popular and is a great way for those new to golf to play the more experienced golfers.
