Since reopening last Monday week, Tuam Golf Club has been a hive of activity with busy timesheets each day. Members have to book on line in order to comply with contact tracing regulations that are in place.

But it is great that there is a surge in new membership applications and a renewed interest in golf. The numbers playing at the moment certainly augurs well for when competitions will resume and hopefully that will be in the very near future.

The course is in great shape and this is something that has been remarked upon by members. This is a reflection of the work done by the ground staff and volunteers who contribute their time in the interest of the club.

Tuam Golf Club, like every other course in the country, has to await guidance from the sport’s governing bodies in terms of resuming competitions but it is great to see so many new faces playing golf and some past members making a welcome return.

Members please remember that the greenskeeper and his staff have priority on the course.

There was no winner of our lotto jackpot worth 8,700 euro. Numbers drawn were 12, 13, 18, 30. There were no match 3’s. Congratulations to Helen Byrne who was our lucky dip winner.
