Coinciding with the start of the WINTER LEAGUE this weekend’s competition threw up the best scores of the season so far.
Winner, with a massive 37 points was Tommy Fleming. Second on 36 points was Kevin Scully, and third was Sean Quinn with 34 ( on a breakdown). Gross was won by Danny McGrath with 25 gross pts. Next weekend, round 2 of the winter league will be 14 holes again with holes 6, 7, 8, and 15 omitted.

Wednesday 8 hole ladies competition 1st Maureen Donnelly 21 pts, 2nd Mary McDonagh 19 pts.

Saturday Club
There was an excellent turnout for the Saturday Club at Tuam Golf Club at the weekend and the scoring was exceptional.
The winner was former head greenkeeper Tom McHugh with 35 points for 14 holes but mention has to be given to Tournament Director Kevin Scully who came in with 36 points but was penalised for his third place finish the previous weekend. Result (14 holes): 1st Tom McHugh (15) 35; 2nd Kevin Scully (22) 34; 3rd Sean Quinn (24) 34; 4th Christy Tighe (24) 34. Bottles: PJ Murphy, Rae Gilmore and Declan Tierney.

Competition resumes again next Saturday and members are also encouraged to support the ongoing club winter league.
