The weekend’s competition was exceptionally close once again….with 8 players within one point of the winner. Just when his team needed him Rae Gilmore (28) comes up with the goods…. a huge 34 points moving them from 16th into the top ten. Rae beat Dec King (18) who is in a great run of form. Third, one of several on 33 points, is Tom McHugh (19) who is battling for top spot in the league.

The delayed ‘bottles’ outing at Tuam Golf Club was held last weekend and Michael Barrett shot the lights out with 37 points for 14 holes. There were a lot of pars along with one birdie in the mix and there were a few left out there as well. Saturday Club Captain Gerry Cunningham presented Michael with his prize and said that it was encouraging that so many played in the event. He described it as being an intrinsic part of the club. Normality returns this coming weekend with a reminder that the ‘away’ outing takes place in Hodson Bay Golf Club on Saturday, March 25. There is a timesheet from 10am to 11.30am.
