Goats Golf
The retired members of Tuam Golf Club held their Christmas outing and there was a great turnout. The scramble format proved very popular.
Result: 1st Gerry Cunningham, Paul Keating, Sean Quinn; 2nd John Daly, Frank Holliman, Austin Lydon; 3rd Frank Biggins, Luke Tighe, Seamus Treacy, Rae Gilmore.
There was a draw for a €50 voucher for Murphy’s Centra, Dublin Road, Tuam which was provided to the Goats by Tuam Golf Club and this was won by Austin Lydon.
Captain Paul Keating wished all members a very happy Christmas and hoped that the incoming Captain Jerry Desmond would have a successful 2024.

LOTTO 7/12/23
There were no winners of our lotto jackpot worth €5,800. Numbers drawn were 1, 7, 9, 30. Congratulations to Michael Cullen and Christy Tighe who were our match 3 winners.

LOTTO 14/12/23
There were no winners of our lotto jackpot worth €5,900. Numbers drawn were 2, 5, 27, 28. Congratulations to Noel Higgins who was our lucky dip winner.

Mens Results
Despite the poor weather conditions there was a fine turnout for the weekend competition (including round 3 of our winter league). Winner, by two, on 29 points is Shane Conlisk (18). Second, continuing his great form, is Noel Kelly (17) on 27 points. Third is Declan King (18) also on 27 points.

There is no club competition this coming weekend but we are back on Thurs 28th with a team of 3 comp (1 to count on 1st, 2 on the 2nd, 1 on the 3rd, 2 on the 4th etc) and this will run ’til Mon 1st. Guests/Visitors are allowed for this 14 hole competition.

The winter league will resume on weekend beginning Jan 12th.

Saturday Club
The Christmas ‘bottles’ outing proved a wonderful success for The Saturday Club with a great turnout despite the adverse weather conditions.
The in-form Kevin Scully prevailed on this occasion with 28 points for the 12-hole competition to see off the chasing pack that included Tom McHugh and Declan King.
Result (12 holes): 1st Kevin Scully (23) 28pts; 2nd Tom McHugh (15) 27pts; 3rd Declan King (18) 27pts; 4th Johnathan Martin (24) 26pts; 5th Seamus Treacy (24) 24pts; 6th PJ Murphy (25) 24pts; 7thJarlath Kelly (23) 24pts; 8th Garry Purdon (18) 23pts; 9th Michael Casserly (22) 23pts; 10th Gerry Murphy (25) 22pts.
There will be a Saturday Club outing this coming weekend to get members in the form of the festive season.
